When it comes to affiliate marketing, there are various things that you should do to ensure success and various things that you should not do to avoid failure.

The Dos
1) Promote products that are high quality and things that you find interesting yourself. When you believe in the value of a product and it is something that you would buy for yourself, you will be able to promote it better.
2) Make the most of the tips and tools that vendors offer on the Affiliate pages of their respective sites. These pages are often replete with useful and interesting information that can help you promote the product(s) better.
3) Take the time out every few days to test your HopLinks and campaigns. These need to work well at all times.
4) Spend some quality time researching the various ways to promote products effectively before you get started.
5) Always make sure that you are flexible about your techniques and willing to make changes if something does not seem to be working. Different techniques work for different people and different products. Do not be rigid in affiliate marketing.
6) Pick an account nickname that is inoffensive and sounds professional. People prefer to get involved with professionals instead of marketers who sound non-serious.
The Don’ts
1) The first and most important thing to remember is that you must never, ever spam. While there are affiliate marketers who believe in spamming and will swear by it, research has shown that in the long run, spamming does not benefit anyone.
2) Unless you want to become a ClickBank vendor (and we are guessing you don’t) leave the My Site, My Products and My Images sections of your Account Settings blank.
3) Avoid negative advertising campaigns at all costs. While some affiliates work by writing controversial and negative things like ‘Is X a scam?’ (X being the product) and then linking to the product, you must remember that in such cases, potential buyers always come to the landing page with a negative image of the product. In addition, many vendors would object to their product being promoted as a scam and might report you.
4) Don’t feel obligated to purchase the product that you’re promoting. It is never a necessity with regards to affiliate marketing.
5) Don’t expect a lot of traffic and money when you’ve just started out. Affiliate Marketing requires time, effort and patience. The results will come, just be patient.
Affiliate Marketing is one of the best ways to earn money from home. This online job opportunity is perfect if you are looking to work from home and earn a steady income. Just be careful of the dos and don’ts and you have nothing to worry about!
